Daniel James Seavey (born April 2nd, 1999- ) was a contestant on Season 14 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Daniel auditioned in San Francisco. He sang "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen on the piano, and "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul on the guitar. Although Harry voted "no", Keith and Jennifer voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Daniel was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, singing "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. He was later shown in a group called "L.K.Y.C.O." (or "Ladies Keep Your Clothes On (Please)") alongside Savion Wright, Trevor Douglas and Qaasim Middleton. They sang "Story of My Life" by One Direction. For his final solo performance, he sang "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul. At the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did enough to become a Top 24 semifinalist.

After the Show[]
Daniel was one of the founding members of the boy band Why Don't We. The group had two albums hit the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but went on hiatus in 2022. He remains signed to Atlantic Records and released a solo album in 2025. As a solo artist, he also joined fellow Idol alum Benson Boone on the latter's headlining world tour, the Fireworks & Rollerblades World Tour.
