Cyniah Elise Chambers (born February 27, 2002)[1] was a contestant in Season 18 and Season 19 of American Idol.


Cyniah auditioned in Savannah. She sang "You Are the Reason" by Calum Scott. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Cyniah was shown in the "R&B" category of the "Genre Challenge", alongside Makayla Phillips, Just Sam, and Jordan Jones. She sang "All I Ask" by Adele. Afterwards, the judges told her she advanced. She was later shown in a duet with Makayla Phillips called "Diva Show" singing "The Prayer" by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. Both members of the duet advanced. For her final Solo performance, she sang "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" by Whitney Houston. She was later placed in the same deliberation room as Jonny West, Arthur Gunn, Sophia Wackerman, Franklin Boone, Makayla Phillips, Kimmy Gabriela, Francisco Martin, DeWayne Crocker Jr., and Lauren Mascitti, where it was revealed by the judges that everyone in the room had advanced.

Hawaii Round[]

Cyniah sang "Lady Marmalade" by Labelle. Afterwards, the judges told her she did enough to become a Top 20 finalist.

This Is Me[]

Top 20[]

Cyniah sang "Warrior" by Demi Lovato. She did not receive enough votes to place in the Top 10, and the judges chose not to save her, eliminating her from the competition.

The Comeback[]

Cyniah sang "Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)" by Miley Cyrus, ft. Stevie Nicks. She did not receive enough votes to land a spot in the Top 10.
