Colin Stough (born July 28, 2004)[1] was a contestant on Season 21 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Colin auditioned in New Orleans. He sang "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. All three judges votes "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Colin chose to work on his Confidence in the first round of Hollywood Week. He sang "Stone" by Whiskey Myers. For his final solo performance, he sang "Cold" by Chris Stapleton. Afterwards, the judges brought him, Iam Tongi and Matt Wilson up at the same time. The judges told him that he did enough to become a Top 26 finalist.
Top 26 (Hawaii Round)[]
Colin sang "Midnight Train to Memphis" by The SteelDivers. He received enough votes to be deemed "safe" for another week.
Top 20[]
Colin sang "Pretty Heart" by Parker McCollum. He received enough votes to become a Top 12 finalist. In celebration, he sang "Dancing on My Own" by Robyn.
Top 12[]
Colin sang "Midnight Rider" by The Allman Brothers Band. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another round.
Top 10[]
Colin sang "It's Been Awhile" by Staind, as chosen by Katy Perry. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another round.
Top 8[]
Colin sang "Hand in My Pocket" by Alanis Morissette for his solo. He then sang "Dive" by Ed Sheeran, as a duet with Megan Danielle. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.
Top 5[]
Colin sang "Real Gone" from Cars and "Nobody Knows" from Pete's Dragon. He received enough votes to advance to the Finale.
Season 21 Finale[]
Colin sang "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban and "Either Way" by Chris Stapleton. He received fewer votes than Megan Danielle and Iam Tongi, eliminating him from the competition.
