Clive Jay Davis (born April 4th, 1932) is an American record producer, A&R executive and music industry executive. He has won five Grammy Awards and became the first non-performer to become a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He produced Kelly Clarkson's debut album Breakaway, earning him a Grammy. He also co-produced the debut albums of Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Fantasia Barrino.
He served as a guest judge during the Top 3 week on Season 3 and the Top 3 week on Season 4 of American Idol.
He also chose songs for the contestants for Top 3 week of Season 3, Top 3 week of Season 4, Top 3 week of Season 5 and the finale of Season 7.
