Christian Guardino (born March 14, 2000)[1] was a contestant on Season 20 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Christian auditioned in Nashville. He sang "A Song for You" by Leon Russell. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Christian was shown in the "Soul" category of the Genre Challenge, in a group with Danielle Finn. He sang "My Future" by Billie Eilish. He was later shown in a duet with Nicolina called "Cantante Forte", singing "The Prayer" by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. After his final solo performance, he sang "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon. Afterwards, the judges told him that he did enough to make the Top 24.

Top 24[]

Christian appeared in Group 2 and sang "Leave the Door Open" by Silk Sonic. He received enough votes to advance.

Top 20[]

Christian sang "Imagine" by John Lennon. He received enough to make the Top 10 in the voting, making him a finalist. To celebrate, he sang "Creep" by Radiohead.

Top 14[]

Christian sang "Take Me to Church" by Hozier. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.

Top 11[]

Christian sang "I'm Not the Only One" by Sam Smith, chosen by Katy Perry. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.

Top 10[]

Christian sang "Circle of Life" from The Lion King. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.

Top 7[]

Christian sang "Lonely" by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco and "Dear God" by Smokie Norful. He, alongside Jay Copeland, received the lowest number of votes for that week, eliminating him from the competition.

Trivia[]

  • Christian appeared on the twelfth season of America's Got Talent where he received Howie Mandel's Golden Buzzer. He was eliminated at the Semifinals.
    • Coincidentally, fellow season twelve alum Yoli Mayor also auditioned for season 20 of American Idol.
