- Chris shares the same name as season 10 contestant Chris Medina. This marks the third time that two contestants shared the same name, after Aaron Kelly and Courtney Williams.
- Coincidentally, both Chris Medinas auditioned during seasons where Jennifer Lopez was on the judging panel.
- Chris brought his dog Bubby in with him during the audition.
- He also auditioned and made it to Hollywood in Season 8, but was eliminated during Hollywood week (although it was not televised).
