Audition

Cade's audition was not televised, though the American Idol website revealed he auditioned in Savannah.

Hollywood Round

Cade was shown in an unknown Group of Ten singing "The Thrill Is Gone" by B.B. King. He advanced. He was later shown in the Solo Round singing "Feel It Still" by Portugal. The Man. Afterwards, he was placed in the same holding room as Catie Turner, Dennis Lorenzo, Trevor McBane, Jurnee, Christina Jones, Amalia Watty, Marcio Donaldson, Victoria McQueen, Dominique and Maddie Zahm and it was revealed at everyone in their room had advanced. He was shown during the Showcase Round singing "No Good" by Kaleo and at the Final Judgment, it was revealed that he made it to the Top 24.

Top 24

Cade was shown in Group 1. He sang "All Along the Watchtower" by Jimi Hendrix and "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS in a duet with Bishop Briggs. The judges felt that he did good enough to become a Top 14 finalist.

Top 14

Cade sang "Black Magic Woman" by Santana during the Live Show and "Bright Lights" by Gary Clark, Jr. during the Results Show. He was placed in the Top 6 in voting for that week, making him a Top 10 finalist.

Top 10

Cade sang "Kiss the Girl" by Samuel E. Wright from The Little Mermaid. He received enough votes to become a Top 7 finalist.

Top 7

Cade sang "Who Will Save My Soul" by Jewel and "Jungle Love" by The Time. He received enough votes to become a Top 5 finalist.

Top 5

Cade sang "Undo It" by Carrie Underwood and "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd for his mother. He, alongside Michael J. Woodard, received the lowest number of votes, thus eliminating him from the competition.
