Burt Freeman Bacharach (born May 12th, 1928 - February 8th, 2023) is an American composer, songwriter, record producer, pianist and singer who composed hundreds of hit songs from between the 1950s and the 1980s, winning six Grammy Awards and three Academy Awards in the meantime.
Burt served as a mentor for the Top 5 performance show in Season 1 of American Idol. He performed the piano while the Top 10 of Season 2 sang "What the World Needs is Love" during the Top 5 results show. He also played the piano for a Burt Bacharach medley during the Season 5 Finale.
