Angela Peel (born October 5, 1981)[1] was a contestant on Season 1 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Angela's segment was not televised, although she auditioned in Chicago. However, her audition was eventually uploaded on YouTube in 2017. The clip exhibited her singing "As We Lay" by Shirley Murdock. All three judges voted "yes", sending her through to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Angela's stay in Hollywood wasn't televised much, but it was revealed that she did enough to make the Top 30.
Top 30[]
Angela was in Group 2, and sang "Run to You" by Whitney Houston. Although she did not place amongst the top three from her group, she was selected to compete in the Wild-Card Round.
Wild-Card[]
On the Wild-Card show, Angela reprised her audition song choice, "As We Lay" by Shirley Murdock. The judges decided not to pick her as the Wild-Card contestant, thus eliminating her from the competition.
Trivia[]
- Angela has also pursued acting after Idol, landing roles such as the female lead in the indie biopic, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain (2021).[2]
