Angela Martin was a contestant on Season 7, Season 8 and Season 9 of American Idol.

Season 7 Audition[]

Angela auditioned in Philadelphia. She was auditioning for her daughter with developmental disabilities. She sang "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Season 7 Hollywood Round[]

Angela was shown on the third day of Hollywood Week in the same group of ten as Jeffrey Lampkin and Kyle Ensley and Alyssa Coco. Prior to her Day 3 performance, Angela's father passed away, causing her to almost withdraw from the competition. She sang "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. She was eliminated at this stage of the competition.

Season 8 Audition[]

Angela's audition was not televised.

Season 8 Hollywood Round[]

Angela originally made it to the Top 54, but had to drop out because of a traffic violation.

Season 9 Audition[]

Angela auditioned in Chicago. She sang "Just Fine" by Mary J. Blige. All four judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Season 9 Hollywood Round[]

Angela was shown in a group with Tasha Layton. On the final day of Hollywood Week, she sang "American Boy" by Estelle, ft. Kanye West. After that, she was placed in a holding room with Shelby Dressel, Haeley Vaughn, Maddie Penrose, Jessica Furney, Didi Benami, Lee DeWyze, Lacey Brown, Aaron Kelly, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz, John Park, J.B. Ahfua and Janell Wheeler. It was revealed that everyone in the room had advanced. At the final deliberation, it was revealed that she did not make the Top 24.
