Alexis Lopez (born August 4, 1984)[1] was a contestant on Season 1 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Alexis auditioned in Los Angeles. She sang "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. It is not known precisely how the judges voted, but at least two of them voted "yes", sending her through to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Alexis was shown during the second part of Hollywood Week, in a group with Tamyra Gray and Trinity Manning. She and Tamyra advanced, while Trinity was eliminated. She was also shown during the final solo rounds, singing "Genie in a Bottle" by Christina Aguilera. It was revealed that she did enough to make the Top 30.
Top 30[]
Alexis was in Group 2, and reprised her audition song choice, "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. Although she did not place amongst the top three from her group, she was selected to compete in the Wild-Card Round.
Wild-Card[]
On the Wild-Card show, Alexis sang "Saving All My Love for You" by Whitney Houston. The judges decided not to pick her as the Wild-Card contestant, thus eliminating her from the competition.
