Alexander Don "Alex" Lambert (born December 10th, 1990) was a contestant on Season 9 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Alex's audition was not televised, but Ryan mentioned he auditioned in Dallas.

Hollywood Round[]

Alex was shown in a group called "The Dreamers" along with Mary Powers, Hope Johnson and Margo May. He did enough to advance along with Mary and Hope. For his final solo performance, he sang "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz accompanied with a ukulele. After the judges' verdict, he was placed in the same holding room as Casey James, Tim Urban, Tyler Grady, Andrew Garcia, Todrick Hall, Katie Stevens, Jermaine Sellers, Siobhan Magnus, Crystal Bowersox, Michael Lynche, Thaddeus Johnson, Tori Kelly, Lilly Scott and Jeff Goldford. Everyone in his room advanced. At the final deliberation, it was revealed that he made the Top 24.

Alex sang "Wonderful World" by James Morrison. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Top 20[]

Alex sang "Everybody Knows" by John Legend. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Top 16[]

Alex sang "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne. He, along with Todrick Hall, received the lowest number of votes for that week, eliminating him from the competition.
