Adam Mitchel Lambert (born January 29th, 1982) was a contestant on Season 8 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Adam auditioned in San Francisco. He sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Although not shown performing, he was shown in a montage of contestants who advanced from the first part of Hollywood Week along with Alexis Grace, Brent Keith and Ann Marie Boskovich. Adam was showcased in a group with Joanna Pacitti, Tom Korbee, Jenn Korbee singing "Some Kind of Wonderful" by Soul Brothers Six. He advanced along with Joanna and Jenn. On the final day of Hollywood Week, he was shown singing "Believe" by Cher. He was placed in a holding room with Matt Giraud, Allison Iraheta, Stevie Wright, Jorge Nunez, Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, Scott MacIntyre and Jackie Tohn among others and the judges revealed that they all advanced. At the judges' mansion, it was revealed that he did enough to make the Top 36.

Adam was in Group 2. Adam sang "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones. He received the highest number of votes for a male contestant that week, making him a Top 13 finalist.

Season 8 Finale[]
Adam sang "Mad World" by Tears for Fears, "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke and "No Boundaries". He did not received more votes than Kris Allen, making him the runner-up.
After the Show[]
Adam served as mentor for the second Top 9 week of Season 9 and during Rush Week of Season 13. This made him the first prior contestant to become a mentor and a guest judge. He later served as a guest judge in Season 14 and was a mentor again in Season 17 and Season 21.

- Despite their surnames, Adam is not related to Season 9 Top 16 semifinalist Alex Lambert.
