Brett Asa "Ace" Young (born November 15th, 1980) was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Ace auditioned in Denver. He sang "Swear It Again" by Westlife. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Ace was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week singing "If I Ever Fall in Love" by Shai. He was also shown in a group with Chris Daughtry and Bobby Bullard. For his final solo performance, he sang "She's Out of My Life" by Michael Jackson. He was placed in the same deliberation room as Terrell Brittenum, Kevin Covais, Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington. Everyone in his room advanced. At the judges' final deliberation, they told him that he did enough to make the Top 24.

In 2008, Ace received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song for co-writing "It's Not Over" by Daughtry. In 2013, he married fellow American Idol alum Diana DeGarmo.
