Abner Juda "A.J." Gil (born July 5th, 1984) was a contestant on Season 1 of American Idol.

Audition[]

A.J. auditioned in Seattle. He sang the American National Anthem. The judges stood up and clapped. It is not known how the judges voted, but at least two of them voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

A.J. was shown in a group visibly forgetting his lyrics. Despite this, he managed to advance. Later on, he managed to progress to the Top 30.

Top 30[]

A.J. sang "All or Nothing" by O-Town. He received enough votes that week to make the Top 10.

Top 10[]

A.J. sang "My Cherie Amour" by Stevie Wonder. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Top 8[]

A.J. sang "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" by Marvin Gaye. He was eliminated at this stage of the competition.
